If you join a team, You can always get pointers from the higher ranking players on your team. Also, look around, there maybe even stronger players shooting in the pool hall on the bigger tables. You can always "how did you get so good".

You are not getting a true reliable result playing with a house stick so why short change yourself? You should get your own personal cue with a shaped cue that strikes the cue true.
